Saleem Hai has been deeply involved in cultural and literary activities, particularly in promoting the Urdu language and its rich heritage. In 2003, he, along with the late Abu Bakr Vakil, met with Irfan Murtaza to discuss and plan the establishment of the Writers Society of North America. This society has since become a significant platform for Urdu writers and poets in the region, fostering a community of literary enthusiasts and professionals.
