MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Urdu Writers Society of North America (UWSNA) is to promote, preserve, and advance the Urdu language, literature, and literary heritage in North America through education, cultural programming, literary events, publications, research, and community engagement.
UWSNA is committed to providing a platform for poets, writers, scholars, educators, students, and emerging literary voices to share their work, exchange ideas, and contribute to the continued growth of Urdu literature.
The Society strives to connect younger generations with Urdu language and culture through Mushairas, conferences, workshops, youth programs, Bait Bazi, literary publications, digital initiatives, and educational activities.
UWSNA also seeks to encourage international literary exchange, strengthen partnerships with academic and cultural institutions, and make Urdu literature accessible to diverse communities.
Through these efforts, UWSNA works to ensure that the richness, creativity, and cultural significance of the Urdu language and literature continue to flourish for present and future generations.
